With this post I would like to show the reflection that I've done after watching ''Un chien andalou'', I find it quite interesting because I see lots of similarities with two other artits that I like. Read it!!!!!!!!
My interpretation of Un chien andalou.
Un chien andalou remind me the Black Paintings made by Francisco Goya. This are a group of fourteen paintings from the later years of his life, likely between 1819 and 1823.They portray intense, haunting themes, reflective of both his fear of insanity and by then, his bleak outlook on humanity.
Also, un chien andalou remind me the book ''Luces de bohemia'' where apears the ''esperpento'' which is a way to distort reality, in the spanish literature created by Valle- Inclán ( the writter of the book ),he uses distorted descriptions of reality in order to criticize society. Leading themes include death, the grotesque, and the reduction of human beings to objects.
For me to stablish a relation between Black Paintings, the ''esperpento of Valle-Inclán and the film Un chien andalou makes sense. What Goya was trying to show remind me the fears and the panics that are showed in the film Un chien andalou, the distosion of the reality made by Valle-Inclan to criticize the society or a person in concret remind me also to the undertone of the film. And of course, because this two things make the reality different an horroros and difficult to understand like in a nightmare. And for me ''Un chien andalou'' is a nightmare, in which are shown brilliant metaphors , as in all the dreams or nightmares also.
In conclusion, for me they are looking to the world with the same eyes.
